Fresh air with minimal energy loss

Air-tight buildings save energy, but at a cost: no natural infiltration to carry away indoor pollutants such as carbon dioxide, formaldehyde, moisture, odors, and gases from building materials and cleaning compounds.

RenewAire energy recovery ventilators exhaust stale air and excess moisture and draw in fresh outside air. Pollutants and excess moisture are exhausted to the outside, but heat (or coolness in summer) is largely recovered, so you can ventilate without significantly increasing your heating (or cooling) costs.

Ventilation for all seasons
RenewAire saves energy all year. Compared to plate heat exchangers:

  • RenewAire can recover up to 30% more energy in winter.

  • In summer RenewAire can reject as much as three times the unwanted heat and moisture.

How RenewAire energy recovery ventilators work
  1. In the RenewAire energy exchange core, the exhausted stale air and fresh ventilation air remain separated as they pass through multiple air passages separated by an engineered composite resin partition plate.

  2. Sensible heat transfers from the warm to the cool air stream, and latent energy (water vapor) transfers from the wet to the dry air stream.

  3. The fresh incoming air is pre-heated or pre-cooled (depending on the season) and excess moisture is rejected.
RenewAire’s unique energy exchange core eliminates condensate and frosting in most applications. No mechanical or electrical defrost systems are needed, which means higher heat recovery efficiencies, simpler installation, and more reliable operation.
